Working on multiple XL-12's. Just got some duckbills in from Leon. The aluminum tube from the gas cap was loose in the tank and will not stay secure in the cap. What can I use to "glue" it in but not be permanent?
The oil cap on the left I just got from Leon to replace a broken cap. What is the bronze/brass mesh called in the middle? Can I buy just that part? (have other caps missing them) The oil cap on the right was pulled from an early blue XL-12 with a 7 digit serial and a wick fuel system. This oil cap is solid, not plastic like the others. part # looks to be 56509. Is that normal for that era saw to not have the duckbill cap?

Depending on what IPL you look at, the bronze tube is sometimes called a sintered tube. Other times fuel or oil vent filter. Depending on what you want to call it. Part number should be 69454.Seems to be very hard to find. You can remove them from caps, very carefully. Go to Leons videos, best way to explain removal. If you have any old / broken caps, keep them & remove the filter.
