A couple of days ago while searching for a lawn tractor battery,I uncovered a nice looking Super2 which was buried under some 300 series Macs.Apparently it got put there while I was rearranging things in my small garage last spring & was forgotten.IIRC it ran on a prime, might've even ran period, but the oiler didn't work.At least these saws I can repair,as opposed to those yellow devils of the same size.I'll get a pic of the saw on here in the next couple of days & maybe take a crack at getting it operational.

I haven't worked on any red saws since last summer, time to get back to working on a saw that's enjoyable to work on.I pulled the half-disintegrated air filter out of the saw & gave it a prime & it fired. This saw is gonna take some work to get it operational again. The chain is seized, but I think I can free it up.The metal tube for the duck bill in the oil tank along with the duck bill are missing, probably in the bottom of the oil tank. The throttle linkage is unhooked from the carb, could be partially seized. It'll most likely need new oil & fuel lines & a new fuel filter, possibly a carb rebuild too.I'll try to get some pics of it on here before I start on it tomorrow.

I pulled the saw apart today. The carb was nice & clean inside, now if I can just get it to hold pressure. The throttle linkage was unhooked from the trigger assembly.Part of the trigger came out of the handle. The carb linkage was partially seized as I suspected which led the the linkage getting messed up.I got the trigger assembly put back together & working properly.I think the saw was sitting in a rather humid environment which caused the carb linkage to seize a bit.A little Liquid Wrench does wonders.I found the duck bill & the oil line tube in the oil tank. It'll get all new oil lines.Surprisingly the fuel filter is clean & I could blow through the fuel line into the filter with no resistance. The chain is soaking in Liquid Wrench too,it should free up nicely. Here are a couple pics.I couldn't find an I.D.tag on the saw anywhere.

I can't get the Zama carb to hold pressure even after putting a rebuild kit in it & nail polish on the welch plugs.I found another engine with a carb on it.As it turned out it's a Tilly HK2A.This is the 1st HK carb I've ever come across with all the Homie saws I've worked on.Of course I don't have a rebuild kit for it,but one is on order.I also found a 190 with a bad engine, but it has a Walbro HDC57 which should work as long as the check valve isn't bad.The only thing I don't like about either the Tilly or the Walbro is they both have a fixed hi jet.

I put a rebuild kit in the Walbro carb today & have another carb that just leaks down way too fast.I'm taking time off from these aggravating carbs & going back to working on the yellow saws.

Now I'm 0 for 3 on carb rebuilds for that damn Super2.I tried rebuilding the Zama - no good, the Walbro - no good,& now the Tillotson HK - no good. The latter leaks down worse now than before the rebuild.I've never had such a carb to work on as that HK,reminds me of a miniature HL,except for the needle & lever.I give up on these little POS.

I will say the HK is my least favorite carb of all time. Walbro's and Zama's can be a pain, but the complexity of the HK is so unnecessary!
