I'm picking this up for 40$ after work mainly buying it for the bar and chain.. But really hoping the engine is still good, I don't see many of the green ones

If I'm not mistaken,the Buz was very similar to the 500.

If I'm not mistaken,the Buz was very similar to the 500. It seems that way, both "consumer" saws I think the 500 was the newer updated model

Neat! That's the second Buz I've run across with that weird clutch cover. Was that a late change to the Buz or did it come from another saw? I thought it was from a Zip, but it's not. Both the 500 and the Buz originally came with the simple flat aluminum sheet metal guard that always fatigued and broke. So not sure if Homey started using this cover at the end of the run or if it's something folks did. But can't find it on another saw. Homey wouldn't have normally used a cover that covered part of the data plate.......but for the life of me I can't figure out what that cover is from. It does look good though, and protects much better than the aluminum fender used previously!!
Got to love that color green too!

After research on the net the cover seems to be real early production, I guessing it got changed to make the cost lower
