I have a 14" Homelite electric chainsaw that I have not used for a few years. I put new oil in it, and it fired up and cut a log. Then the chain became loose and slack. So, I removed the line shaped orange knob, and took the Phillips head screw out of the center of the larger round orange tension knob, and rralgined the chain.
When I put it back together:
The large round tension knob can not get the tension mechanism to turn so I can tighten up the chain again. It is stuck!
I removed the two top and bottom Phillips head screws on the orange knob holder underneath and cleaned and oiled some around it, but the knob when I reattach the screws will not still be able to turn the wheel toothed mechanism. I assume I just need to clean the machine some more. but I would greatly appreciate any guidance before I go further.
Thank you!

2 possible solutions I can come up with.1st, Loosen the clutch cover knob slightly, turning counter clockwise. Before you try to turn adjuster knob. 2nd, raise tip of bar, while turning tension knob.

The chain tensioning knob is literally stuck and will not move. Is there a chain lock safety feature or something like this that locks this knob from turning?
Thanks for the help

Not that i'm aware of. Go to this site, it will show you operator manual & parts manual's. manuals.homelite.com Find your ut / model number. Should be something like UT 43103. Should show how it works and how it goes together.
