New to the forum. I was given an old Homelite Chainsaw by an older friend some years ago. It doesn't run but I'm tinkering with it. The serial number plate is gone and the painted on model name is partially scratched off. it looks like it could be "XL Pro". Any help is much appreciated.

Possibly a Homelite Model XL-875 . Is the Drive-Case Cover a matching green/white ? Dual ring or single L-ring piston ? Switch and Condenser Ignition system ? More info/pics are needed ...

Thanks for the reply. I haven't gotten very far into disassembling the saw so I don't know the piston ring configuration. All I know is there's no spark to the spark plug. I believe it has points and a condenser since there appears to be a wire leading under the flywheel.

Looks like an XL-875, the Drive-Case cover may have been swapped out at some point.
The Air-Filter cover states " Solid State Ignition - no breaker points " which is the Switch-Condenser system, believe was used only on the XL-875 and not the XL-870.

Thank you! Do you know if parts are still available for this model?
