Since most of the equipment and tool auctions have gone "On Line Only", and taken all the fun out of them, I've switched gears and have been watching the on line gun auctions. Got hooked on the old Savage and Stevens 22 target rifles. I picked up a nice Stevens "Armory 414". This is the rifle the US Olympic team won the Gold Medal in 1912. Then I got a Savage 1919 NRA Match Rifle, the rifle the US Team won the 1920 Olympic Gold with. There were 3 variants of that rifle, the 1919, 1923, and 19-33, I got them all. I also had a Fecker 10X target scope I wanted to put on one of the Savages, but they were all in original configuration and I didn't want to take the rear sights off for the scope. So, last week I bought another 19-33, missing the rear sight, and put the Fecker on it. Stevens 414 Armory Savage NRA 1919 top, 1923 middle, 19-33 bottom. Savage 19-33 with Fecker target scope.

I also found this 1902, factory engraved, by master engraver Enoch Tue, 1899 Savage model A with special ordered engraving, special ordered checkering, hand picked Black Walnut wood, Special tang sight and special ordered shotgun butt plate. It's in 303 Savage. I know that's a lot of special, special, etc. But, it is special to me. I plan on hunting this one this fall, and on a SC pig hunt in the spring. Oh, it also has the special ordered pistol grip stock.
