What do the bar numbers mean on the really old bars?

Hi Guys,

 Found lots of info on decoding the GW, TP, etc coded bars.........but nothing on the earlier stuff.  The bar I found just has stamped "HOMELITE 09716501".  Where's the decoder ring for the older stuff on here?
