It was probably 32:1 but you would be fine running 50:1 with modern synthetic oil

Well guys I am blown away. The tank was empty dry as a bone. I put fresh gas in it and it started right up. It revved up and idled just fine. I know it has not been run in at least 15 years. Amazing...........I used some 32:1 that I had mixed up for something. Not even sure how old it was but not over 6 months old. I think I will drain that gas out and mix up some new with non-oxy gas a fresh oil.

Some things are pretty amazing. I bought a bunch of old saws from an old Stihl dealer, whose father was a Homelite dealer. One was an old Mac 1-40. He said it had been sitting on the shelf where his dad left it in the 70's. Put a shot of mix in the carb and it fired. The tank was clean, so I put about half a tank of mix in it, and it fired right up, idled good and revved great. Yesterday I bought another one that has been setting for almost 50 years, same thing, prime and it fired, filled the tank and it starts and runs. The one yesterday did smoke some at first.
