This one followed me home yesterday along with a Super 1130G. I posted the Super in the 1050 category.

Quick check. No missing pieces or anything cracked. Compression is around 145 psi and good spark. Tank is stinky. Put a splash of fresh fuel and she started right up. Yeah, she's a keeper!

So I've been reading the best way to clean them is soap and water? To keep the original paint and decals from coming off. As you can see, the paint job is really good shape. The top part of the fuel tank is faded a little, especially the decal that's on there. I may just order some new decals for it when the time comes.

Hi ruff,
The less you touch the paint.......the more chance it has of staying on. Soap and water means touching it 3 times....soap, rinse, dry. I prefer instead to spray it down with a mist coat of WD40, waiting a few minutes, and then wiping off. Only touch the paint once. WD breaks down oil and dirt without much wiping, whereas soap, ie Dawn or another mild dish soap) will require some rubbing. Not sure on your saw if they're really decals or paint stamps. Many of the older Homies used paint stamps, but some like the EZ-6 used decals. The WD also protects the cast aluminum/magnesium from the white oxidation it gets. Soap and water will leave it exposed to the air. Won't matter much if you keep it inside under your pillow........but if it's out in the shed or garage it will oxidize over time. WD won't protect if forever, but way longer than nothing. If it were me I'd wipe it down with WD and leave it be. They're only original once. And that one has a lot of original showing!! Nice saw!!

I agree totally with Bob. WD-40 or whatever your penetrating fluid of choice is your best bet. I've collected oil cans for a number of years and have learned that WD-40 works great to remove oily sludge and preserve the color/graphics.
