Hmm, that's not good. I wouldn't want to install it without first removing that small chunk by grinding it off and smoothing it up. Then if that area is in line with transfer or exhaust ports in the cylinder it's likely to cause some curious performance characteristics, meaning it might run kinda funny.
I'd definitely look for a better piston until the day comes that you can't find any more good ones.
What model does it fit?

Don't know which model it goes to since it didn't come in a box. When I get a chance I'll mic but I want to say it's 2". If it's not in the direct path of the transfers or ports, I think it should be OK.

Hi ruff,
Hate to be a party pooper........but if you plan on running that saw for any amount of time I'd say NO. If you leave it the way it is the heating and cooling cycles will cause the crack to grow, until the piece comes out and destroys your saw. If you remove the chunk that's cracked the piston will be unbalanced. Not a big deal if you run it for a few seconds to impress your friends, but ultimately won't end well if run longer. If that removed chunk is on the thrust side of the piston skirt the skirt won't be fully supported as it's pressed into the cylinder wall.........and more bad things will happen. If it were mine it'd be in the round file by now......or I guess the recycle bin now-a-days. For what a new one can be had for........just not worth the risk. Just my 2 cents and not worth half that.

Gotta agree with everyone else...that piston isn't worth the risk.
