Another place that I've noticed the letters 'P' and 'W' are in relation to a Phelon or Wico ignition. Super EZs are one place where these are referenced. Thinking that 'P' could be for Phelon is a wag ( wild guess), but I doubt its the case since I don't think there was a different ignition used between the 2000 saws. Now of course there was a different ignition between the 2000 and 2100 series, but that's another story. Dan

I bet he is still trying to get that tree down.. LMAO!!! The little chainsaw is an Echo, a 302 with a 14" bar. That Tanbark tree died an honorable death, maybe 15 minutes start to finish. My brother took the pics, 30 feet behind him was another Tanoak, bigger and more rotten. Between the two of us, plus a big Fir snag, the results were educational.

Alright... so back on the "P" thing. Its mentioned in a couple of the service manuals, even though no specifics about it, and its shown on Mr. Acres site. Don't think I've noticed it anywhere else, but maybe someone else has. That's about the only 2 places I've seen it referenced. So, here's another possibility. There are typos in the serivce manuals, and, even though CSCC is an awesome site, its not perfect. What if there really never was a 2000 P ? Its another possibility to consider, until someone can come up with some facts about this thing.

We will never figure this out I'm starting to think you're right . If no one on the only site dedicated to Homelites can answer this, then there ain't much hope. I'm not wasting time asking this question on AS. Maybe try CSCF and see if anyone has a clue there. Dan

Thanks to the very helpful input from Brian, it turns out the Super 2000 is shares the Dykes head-land piston configuration with the 2100 (plain 2100, not the 2100S, or Super 2100). THis is another big piece of the puzzle that's falling into place. If that dern "P" thing can just get solved now....
