Greetings! I have what I believe is a Super 2. The only identifying sticker says Homelite Textron..? And it has the double carburetor “trigger” handle. I couldn’t get it to stay running so I took it apart to take the carb off, and I noticed a wire hanging down from the bottom of the saw underneath the flywheel. Looks like it’s been cut. It’s attached to one side of the points and the condense? . I don’t see anywhere that it might attach to. Sorry I can’t attach a picture. Not sure how to shrink size on my IPad…Hope the description is enough. Can I just cut it off? Thanks Kevin

It should go to the coil. Flywheel probably cut it. If you have a IPL look at it, won't show much, but might help. Should be another wire from coil to stop switch.
