I generally don't monkey with the smaller saws, but I need to broaden my horizons a bit. This kinda ticked me off last fall when he stopped by with this little XL that he bought at an auction for around $25-$30 & told me it didn't run.I found it had no spark & went to my shed & found a good used ignition module to put on it & then tried to tune the saw.It needed crank seals & I told him that. His response was "why,is it leaking oil"?I almost cracked up laughing, but explained that it was sucking air & if he continued to run the saw in that condition he wouldn't have a saw left.He took it home & used it to cut down small brush. Then back about April he brought the saw by for me to put new seals in it.I told him to bring it by in the winter when things were slower.People just don't listen much.Anyway,I finally pulled the saw apart today & found the fuel filter laying in the bottom of the tank & in need of new fuel & oil lines.I got the flywheel side seal pulled out & called it quits for the day.I had to come in & look up what seal it took.I found that it should take a 94638 which crosses to an SKF4913.I believe I have a couple of them on hand.More to come as the work progresses.

I've run into a bit of a dilemma.I was able to replace the FW side crank seal fairly easily. The clutch side I couldn't even get at with the clutch removed.I'm hoping that one is still good. The dilemma I ran into was that I'm replacing lines in the fuel tank & the oil tank. The oil tank is supposed to have a duck bill in it which attaches to a fitting that goes into the oil line (pressurized from the carb). That fitting is part # 01327.I looked in another XL I have & it doesn't have the fitting either.I dumped out the oil that was in the tank & nothing came out as far as parts.Anyone got any ideas as to what I could use as a substitute?
