Came across a XP-1000 and debating whether to just get it running or do a full resto on it. Magnus has a couple pics of his in the model library over at CCF, but there's no pics of the top or of the clutch side of the saw. Mine is missing alot of paint, so its tough to tell how its "supposed" to look. Anybody got one of these beauties that can post a few pics?

I doubt mine would have any better paint.

That helps alot. Still not sure though with the black and white images. Magnus' pics have a green painted starter cover, yet from this brochure pic, I can't tell this detail.

OK, how or what drives the auto oiler . Never saw one of these but the picture shows the option quite well from the outside

A7e, the clutch probably has a drive pin sticking out. That would mate with a slotted wheel/gear that drives the oil pump, which is located in the oil res./ chain cover. My guess is it's a lot like a Stikl 08s auto oiler. CSW

Are you using a green centered starter like Magnus' pictured at his forum? I'm pretty sure the clutch cover is solid red, but is there any green on the top, like on the fuel tank or air filter cover? I've seen a few air filter covers that have a green section on the rear with thin green lines painted on either side. I don't know if this was for a XP1000 or maybe one of the other XPs. Dan

Hi guys, Hey Dan, I have lots of pics on my decal computer at home....when I get home tonight, I will pull some. Just so that everyone knows, when I set out to do a decal set reproduction, I do a tremendous amount of research to make sure that the decals are just like the originals....this includes lots of pics. If you are wanting to refurb any Homelite, chances are that I have pics of what the original paint and decals looked like.
I also picked up, about 3 months ago, an XP1000 with an auto oiler cover on it.....mine was missing the correct sprocket with the drive extension to drive the oiler,...so,...I am having a couple made. I have designed one to work with a rim drim and sprocket...I will let you know how it goes.
Talk to you soon!

Awesome Joe! Look forward to the pics. That oiler is a great find. I've never seen one face to face, and only a couple on everyone's favorite online auction site. Way to go!

Wow...that is a light saw (19 1/2 lbs) to have that many cubic inches. Weighs in about the same as my Zip with twice the power !!

Hi guys, Ok, I have pics of my two XP1000s. As near as I can tell, the XP1000 has a red clutch cover, a green top for the gas tank and a green center area on the flywheel cover. All other areas are red. As for the air filter cover, everything I have found says it was all red,....the green outline on the sides and the back slant of the air filter cover was definitely done on the XP1130G and may have been done on the XP1020....I am still researching that one. Hope that helps! Talk to you soon! Joe

Thanks Joe! Those pics are great! Its so easy to swap parts around on these. My tank had no trace of green like your's, so I imagine it had been swapped with a different saw. I'll probably be talking to you soon about another decal purchase!
