How common is the 330 SL (chain brake) model? I saw a pretty nice one on a craigslist ad. Just wondering if I should pursuit it. Ron

Hey Ronald, I have seen a lot of 330's but only one with a chain brake.. I would say they are not very common. I have 4 of them and none have a chain brake. Leon has a video of a 330SL with the heated fuel system that he collected. I would pursue it !!

Here is a 330SL. It also has the heated fuel option. 330SL w/winter kit by Clasec, on Flickr There is a valve to redirect fuel around the cylinder for cold operation. 330CW Top by Clasec, on Flickr

I'd agree, not very common. I've seen LOTS of 330's, never had my hands on an SL.

I got it today. Very nice condition saw. The guy had replaced the intake boot and rebuilt the carb. It came in the carry case and included was an extra brake band and owners manual. It runs perfect! The serial number is 3G3430060 (late December of 1985). Glad I snagged this one.

For having a break system, appears to exhibit no extra bulk. I have a handful of 330s and enjoy running them, easy to carry them in the woods when time to cull junk trees. They are a easy saw to work on. Thanks for sharing your photos.
