Yes,this one makes 2? A friend of mine from over on AS who lives in W.V.gave me this SEZ for the cost of shipping. We did a little horse trading along the way too.I got the saw today & it looked to be in pretty good shape, but was a bit dirty. My friend is a Mac guy & he doesn't really care for Homelites.I tried convincing him to fix this saw & use it & he'd be impressed, but that wasn't to be.After I put the handle back on I checked it for spark & it had good spark.I cleaned the bar plates & the drivecase cover, then I put a shot of fuel in the plug hole & it fired up.Next thing I did was dump out old rancid disgusting fuel & put a new fuel filter on it.I thought there'd be no way this saw was going to fire up without pulling the carb, but I put fuel in it,gave it about 4-5 pulls & it was running! I had to hunt up a bar & chain for it because the ones that were on the saw were shot & my friend didn't even bother to ship them. All I could find at the moment was a hard nose bar (later on I found 2 good roller tip bars).I had to make some carb adjustments. The hi was set at only 1/2 turn out. Those kind of settings worry me because it's just too lean.I had to turn the idle screw in about 2 full turns to get it to idle properly.According to ther tag it was made on Jan.10th of 1974.Here are a couple pics.

I'll admit to a soft spot for the 2-tone Super EZ Homelites. Like the reliable points ignition, black grills on the air box, and charming looks. Now you're gonna look downright mean out there Ed limbing trees with one in each hand!!

I wondered. I was about to call BS on the 2 SEZ's bit. Well anyway, that's a pretty clean looking old saw, especially for free.

My dreams of cutting with my newerst SEZ were short lived today.I took the saw with me & fired it up first thing.Made one cut & went to make another & it died, would not restart.I suspect the condenser crapped out on it.I haven't checked anything yet & won't be able to till Sun.at the earliest.

Today I had to do the monthly shopping & with all that walking on concrete floors it raises holy hell with the neuropathy in my feet.Normally aftyer I get home I have a bite to eat & then take a power nap.I guess curiosity got the best of me after a short rest & I went out to check that SEZ for spark. It had the same bright spark as when I checked it right after I got it.I pulled the choke on & pulled it over 2 or 3 times & it fired.I pushed in the choke & pulled twice again & that dang saw was running great. It throttled up just fine & I held it at WOT for a bit to make sure it wasn't a fuel starvation problem.I can't understand for the life of me why it quit on me & wouldn't restart.

Yep, them kind can play with your brain and test your patience. It will quit again.
I would probably carry a spare spark plug in my pocket so as I could immediately test for spark when it quits again just by plugging onto the spark plug wire. (checking for spark from the magneto area) If sparks ok give it a slight prime and see if gets a pop.
Some of them EZ's are not easy to get the spark plug out when in the woods due to the angle of the plug and the handle. I have a short spark plug socket and the outer end ground square on two sides for a small cresent. Not just any scrench will do.

Hi Ed, Hmmmm...........must be contagious this SEZ thing......cuz I got one yesterday. But she sure wasn't free. But they're just hard to pass up when in good shape. Here's my new honey....I hope she behaves better than your girl. But we'll see. ;O) bob
