I picked up a DM 40 chopsaw. It's low on compression. I assume the P/C is toast. Haven't pulled the muffler yet. It needs a carb boot and air filter. Are parts available for this saw. Is it based off a 410 chainsaw?

blackoak I do have some parts for DM 40 saws, but mostly castings. If you have an IPL, send me a list of the parts you need. chainsawlady

When I get a chance I will try and see what all will be needed to get it going. I really don't need it, as I have a TS 400 Stihl that I haven't used but a few times in the last year. I got the DM 40 cheap at a local auction. It may be a while before I can tear into it as I have been putting in around 70 hours a week at my other job. I don't get to work on saws much anymore. Thanks chainsawlady, I'll get back with you asap.

If it is based on a 410 then Eric can set you up nicely.

It's supposed to have 160 lbs of compression. It's on the way here. I will need a carb intake boot for sure for a DM 40. Do you happen to have one. I can paypal you the money, or however you would like to be paid. Do you know if one off a 330 or a 360 chainsaw will work. I have several new boots for these two saws. Thanks for your time and help

It uses a boot similar to a 330, but its a little different. The 330 boot is straight and the 410 (and DM40) is angled. I imagine they're different diameter also. The 360 boot is completely different. Dan
