I guess I got an XP1020. It was an eBay deal and I haven't paid for it yet because the seller owes me an invoice to remove shipping since we're lining up an in person pick up. He has some other Homies that I'm interested in checking out when I pick up the 1020.
I'm not much of a 1020 guy. How much of a difference is there between it and a 1050? I don't know if it's the automatic oiler model or not yet. Other than that and the paint job, looks to be much the same saw.

The XP1020 & the 1050 are both 100 cc saws.I saw that 1020 on Feebay,I almost bid on it,but I've already got an XP1000,so I'm happy.FWIW,I think you got a good deal on it.

But I haven't even told yet how much I gave for it. I'm holding back too until the deal is done, don't wanna jinx it!

Well kinda sorta. Yeah I know it shows $100 on eBay but I'm trying to work a deal with the seller to pick up several other saws when I pick up the 1020. So I'm looking at it like one big package deal that will at least partially dilute out the cost of the 1020 so I won't feel like I have $100 in it. We'll see how it all works out. I'm sure I'll post the results.

Hope he has some very nice saws to go along with the 1020. There was the XP1020, XP1020 Auto, Super XP1020 and Super XP1020 Auto. Always kinda thought it was funny that Homelite pretty much added the muffler guard with a few other things to the XP1000 and updated the name to XP1020, yet ended up with the 4 variants and didn't bump the number, then just a few other little things and they decided to change it to the 1050. Figure it must have just been marketing decisions for selling the saws, but it makes it tough to keep track of each model's details.

Marketing, the corporate way keep the place running, and the "latest & greatest" in the hands of the customer. Hope the deal works out for you.

Ok, so I ended up with the XP1020, a C-51, a C-5, a 360 and a Homelite built Craftsman that's similar to an XL-101 or some such thing.
The 360 might be pretty good and had a decent 20" bar and chain.
The XP will need some work but hopefully will end up a runner.
The C's are pretty tired. Not sure if or when I'll expend much effort on them.
The Sears saw looks complete except for the side cover but I haven't checked it out for condition yet. It doesn't look too bad though.
If the XP and the 360 work out I'll consider the whole deal a success.

They're not very photogenic! And I'm about to be out of town through Monday.
I know, I know - no pix? Then it didn't happen!
