Thanks to Bill G. for this rim drive system. Fortunately, I already had a near new .404 8 tooth, but I was happy to get this. Whatever it takes to keep the old workhorses going. I just dropped a set of rings in and almost changed the seals, but it idles so nicely and passed the flip test with flying colors so I left it be. For kicks, and since the points wire was already broken, I installed an atom ignition module that seems to work very well. Too bad I don't have anything large enough to make the saw break a sweat. Chris,
Nice saw.....I love a saw with a bar so long you need to prop it up on a 2" x 6"

Yep, put it to a stump the other day. I think I'll need to start the cut with a smaller bar before I dog in the 5 footer. Darn thing flexes too much and derails the chain. Pulled it with some authority though. Sprocket worked great. Its a keeper.
I believe I owe you some dough!

That is one fine looking saw,. I use a 25" on mine. I just might have to breal out a longer bar for the Indiana GTG on July 18th.

I don't know why I mount up the 60" bar. Each time I do, I trip over it for a few days and then put it back in the rafters. For my purposes it is next to useless. But it sure is a head turner! I have a good 30" for more practical uses.
I would love to make the GTG. I'm pretty sure I'm working midnights that morning and I can only make it if I don't work the next night, which I bet I will be.

Hey Bill G. Here's a Mac to give the 3100 a run for it's money. This is the 890 gear drive with the SP125 motor that I had posted on AS. Just got the 1/2" chain put together and a new gear installed. This project is done. I would like to find a 36" roller nose to really complete it, but I don't think the saw will know the difference. This pic is just in case you fellas think Homelites do all the work. Chris B.

Those 36" roller are the cat's meow. I let one go a few weeks back to a good collector. That is one fine looking saw you have there. I do not have any saw like that.

Man, let me have the next roller nose you get. Be that as it may, I should spend some time cleaning up this bar. Maybe send it out to that chain bar company. It is in pretty good shape, just needs to be dressed.

Bill Davenport is a good guy. He will treat you right. If I had a load of spare rollers he would be building me a bunch of bars. The 36" I sent out was a real good deal with 1/2" full chisel

I was thinking that if I had a good spare roller nose he could redo that bar for me. I'll be keeping my eyes open.

Bill,
Got any of these rim drives for the Macs? I wanted to send a MO but I was finding it hard to get to the post office. I was able to get the check out much faster.

Chris,
Never waste your money on a money order. Why pay someone else for a piece of paper. Cjecks work with me. I just have to remember to cash it. As for the Macs I did play around trying to figure them out but had no sucess.
