I have developed a soft spot for anything XL powered, and will share what I have a cumulated in another thread, but wanted to show the Harvester I recently was entrusted with. It appears only lightly used, but is missing the fuel line. It fires up well when bottle fed, and the seller included an nos fuel line and filter, so those will go in perhaps today. I will get it cleaned and polished up. The rust removal process I have used for years on tractors works well for the rust that develops on the steel parts.

That's awesome! I've only seen a couple of those in pictures and they are usually in awful condition. Thanks for sharing?

It's been a long while since I've been posting on here. VERY nice to see another harvester as that was one of the most elusive XL-12 based tools to find for the collection. I have a collection of the XL tools other than just the chain saws. Rare to to see one with the pole too. If anyone else has one please post it. If anyone needs the jaw for the end of the pole, please let me know. Here's a link to a video of running the harvester. It was rebuilt but not tuned yet and this was the first and only time ever trying it to shake a tree. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9R1kNEmt_C0 That paint came out excellent. Care to share your process for rust removal that you used?

That paint came out excellent. Care to share your process for rust removal that you used? I simply evenly cover the surface with the rust remover gel, let sit roughly 30mins, and then rinse thoroughly with water. It is also a rust prohibitor, so it helps keep the rust from coming back due to humidity, etc. I had quite a pile of XL-12 based tools, some quite uncommon, and all (that are left) are for sale. The Harvester, a Terry XL-12 with capstan Mini Winch, XL-100 based Wachs Pipe Saw, an M6 Disperser (army backpack blower), XLS 1.5 and 4 style pumps, and I have an Aton drill currently on an XL-1 that would work on an XL-12 as well. I also have for sale a few other XL-12 based saws. A nice blue SXL-AO with the scarce 3/4 wrap handle & 24" bar, a nice Super XL Automatic (red/green), a couple XL-500's, XL-400 Floating Power, very scarce Super XL AM, and Duramark 20.

Thought I had them all but didn't know of the MB back pack blower. The MB unit I have is hand held. Are there any pictures of it posted on here somewhere? Might be interested in that one and possibly the capstan winch uremailing@yahoo.com John
