Never seen bar oil gum up like this in my years of collecting, did they use something funky, or can bar oil actually sit too long and form jello like resin? Funny the other night was watching the video of Leon tearing down a super ez and chasing an oiling problem Thought to myself never seen a oil system that bad...Lmao

I watched that same video a couple weeks ago.Is that the one where he ended up tearing the engine apart to fix the plugged oil route?I never saw Leon get so pissed at a saw! Lol
I had a guy bring me a pair of "Remingtons" a couple of yrs.ago & one of them had bar oil in it that went bad.I'd never seen bar oil turn to the consistency of glue.I had one helluva time getting that crap out of the saw.I ended up running clear kerosene through the oiling system & it still was like glue coming out at the bar pad.

Got manual line from plunger to where it meets pump body clear, looked I side of oil tank, think I'm just gonna swap tank body at this point, wondering if someone used vegitable oil, but regardless what a mess! Though this was gonna be a simple carb kit/fuel line project, after work gonna tackle the pump it's full of this goo, have a nos pump but hopefully this one can be saved

Kevin,if you have any Seafoam try soaking the oil pump in that & turn the gears so it pumps the Seafoam through the pump.It should do a good job in cleaning the goo out of the pump.

Looks like a nasty mess to clean up but I'm confident you'll get it taken care of.
Reminds me of a Kohler engine I tore down years ago that someone had dumped varnish in instead of motor oil. Worst mess I've ever seen, it was hard to even salvage any parts.
