Over in the "3D print an air filter" thread, Mr Hunns posted a pic of the carb on his machine showing hom much dust it's eating into the airbox. houseofhomelite.proboards.com/thread/9689/330-air-filter-idea-out That pic seemed really interesting to me, as my 330s choke doesn't have any air bypass hole? (Air filter foam not installed in this pic while i was testing the fit. Yes, it was installed before i closed the lid) Just something you may want to check, especially if yours doesn't like much choke or to follow the reccomended start procedure. I had wondered why it had so much more throw on the choke lever than it ever needed. UT 10609 / SN 5C3054264 I don't know if mine was like a Monday/Friday part, or if there's a batch of UT numbers that might be that way? The choke plate hole is slightly larger than 0.050", maybe as large as 0.054".

That is a bit of a head scratcher. I looked at the original IPL as well as the latest revision and both show only one option and it has a hole in it. It doesn't appear to have anything to do with the winter unit option. I had a theory that it might be for one specific carb since the 330 had carb options but that doesn't appear to be the case. Unless someone digs up something in a Service Bulletin, I'm gonna say they just missed drilling one out of a batch of parts. It can happen.
If it doesn't flood when starting, I don't really see the need to worry about it. If it does flood and takes multiple cranks to clear it after you open the choke, just drill a hole in it. Or change it to a part with a hole in it from a donor saw. There are parts-o-plenty out there for 330's.

Nothing special that i know of? It's NOT a SL 'Safety Latch' or CW 'Carb Warmer' / 'Cold Weather' saw. UT and Serial Number listed in first post.
Walbro carb
Its starting sequence seems to like: Ignition switch On, throttle hold pin Set, around Half choke, pull start to first engine cough, choke Off, pull start to running. Then as with all saws let it warm up a little before you send it.
I'd seen a few other posts around here about hard to start or easily flooding 330s, so i think some others may have this going on too.
