Earlier I posted a thread under specific models, but have not received any information to help resolve my problem. I am hoping to get a better response here as I know that Leon is an expert on these models from watching his videos.
Original Owner of Older Super 2. I have for years replaced internal thread Oil Cap, gobs of teflon tape, o-rings, etc. to maintain tight seal on tank. Saw stopped oiling and I purchased a replacement old stock oil tank to resolve my sealing issues. My original tank has the metal connector(69659-1), but no duckbill valve(?maybe the problem). This replacement tank has a plastic tee fitting(A-07508) with duckbill valve(69451) and red plastic tube(?) inserted inside other branch of the tee.
I still have no oil output with this replacement tank. I had read to make sure the duckbill was not touching tank side, which it maybe in this tank and that is when I discovered the plastic tee difference. I am guessing that the red plastic tube is an orifice to allow tank to depressurize when not running to stop oil flow.
I extended the pressure input line to see if the diaphragm pump would force bubbles out under water. It did even at idle, but this may not be true when discharging into the pressurized tank. I installed the old connector(69659-1A) with new duckbill in the pressurizing hose in the oil tank. I then used a squeeze bulb on the inlet line to pressurize the tank and got oil flow from the line that connects to the port on the saw engine block. I then used the squeeze bulb on this inlet port expecting to get air passage out of the oil line to the bar. I did not get any air flow as discharge tube to bar was underwater and no bubbles.
I do not know why the oil flows from the tank through the inlet and outlet ports on the saw engine block. Am I wrong to expect air to flow through it as I attempted per above. I am thinking maybe my loss of oil to the bar may be due to blockage here.
Thanks to everyone for reading this post and for any advice that is shared. I love my little Super 2 and this forum is absolutely wonderful. I have learned so much about my Homelite from this forum and Leon"s site and videos.
