Hello HOH members , had a 925 for some time now , got parts needed to get it going, rebuilt from top to bottom. After starting saw cranked 3rd pull, let run 2660 rpm for 30 min. (new cylinder/piston) all good carb screws both 1 1/2 turns out .Walbro HS151B carb.Next day ,As I started to tune , leaning fuel out , saw clearing up fuel stated to boil in tank ( new duck bill valve in cap) fuel temp 135 degrees, bottom of saw got to hottest 158 degrees , typically 135 degrees according to thermometer doing tuning. It is either over rich/ lean . final setting was 1 turn out on low speed adjustment , high speed was at 1/2 turn . Kill saw and at times fuel pours from carb! ? Pickest tuner I have had yet for Homelites .

My 925 has been pickey on carb tune to I has to reset the needle arm 3 times lower and I gave my spring a little stretch and that fixed it dripping carb that is my saw is a turn out o h if that means anything at 40:1 I have the governor pluged off not sure on the heat thing my sxl and xl12 both boil the gas if it's above 60 and thay are in bigger wood but my 1050 super xl hardly ever does as long as it's clean so I am not much help sorry

The HS151B is a fixed jet carb, meaning you can't tune it too lean.I think I read somewhere where the 151B was set at the factory at 1/2 turn out on the hi.Originally the 925 was 82cc & Homelite decided to cut them back to 77cc.I've heard/read that the saws were being burned up & by cutting down on the cc.s ,along with a change in the fin configuration,it was supposed to cut down on the saws burning up.I think more likely than not it was the owner setting the carb too lean that caused the saws to burn up.The fixed jet carb was also put on the 925s to prevent them from buring up due to being too lean.

The 925 is breaking in more, all the time . Have not used since October soon to be cutting , will be tuning in cut , and watching gas tank for pressure as I am cutting / tuning , and keeping a thermometer handy

The HS151 is a Tillotson not a Walbro

I find the tillotson hs151b can be temperamental, have a sxl-922 that is a goto for cutting and I swapped in a hs26, much better as for boiling fuel.. I don't know, I have one xl-76 that no matter what I do, it will always boil fuel, and none of my other saws in the series do, but I just keep unig it haven't had any issues, just wait until it cools down before opening the fuel cap
