This saw had the laminated oil tank cover.I the pic you can see at the very top a dowel pin for lining up the cover on the saw,the saw has a dowel on it too.Just under the dowel pin is a hole that's supposed to have a small nipple sticking out about 1/8 in.that "gets plugged into" a hole on the oil tank reservoir. When the oil pump plunger is actuated oil is pumped through that small nipple & through a check valve & into the fitting that's screwed into the tank cover &then through the oil line & into the bar pad. That little 1/8 in.nipple was made of a very thin metal tube that crumbled when I just touched it.It looks like there's enough room in the oil tank cover that a "line" of some sort can be recessed in about 1/4 in.It looks like there's another check valve in the fitting that screws into the oil tank cover.I've thought about putting a very small piece of tygon line in place of the crumbled nipple,or should I use a piece of copper tubing?Any help is greatly appreciated!

I haven't come across this problem, but I'd go back with metal if at all possible. Would a piece of copper oil line be the right size?

I tried a piece of copper oil line from a SXL & it was a bit too big.I'm wondering if sanding the OD will help,or possibly take a trip to my local hardware store to see if they might have what I need. Today I tried putting the oil tank cover on & clamping it in place.I put oil in & it came out just about as fast.I tried to get the oiler primed, but it looks like the little piece of tubing must be in place for the system to work.If I can't get the oiler working then there's no sense in going any further.

I had a little time this evening & did some sanding on the OD of the copper tubing & I got it to fit.Now I need to know how much space I need to leave for the check valve to work.Maybe there is no ball check valve on this?On the recoil side of the saw there's a brass screw & under that screw there's a check valve.I can't see there being more than one check valve on the oiler.
