Picked up a xl 923 seems to be in fairly good condition few issues that worry me the fuel filter screen in the carb was missing entirely and the spark plug was finger loose and by the looks of the sludge on the cylinder head and top of piston its been that way for awhile the cylinder walls and exhaust side of piston look good cant see any scoring at all really. Its supposed to run good havent fired it yet waiting on the carb screen whats decent compression on these I put a tester on it and I got it to about 175 psi need to replace the rope its got a short throw took me a few tries to get 175psi how much life are we talking here?..... thanks

Brand new, these saws seemed to range from 180-200, so 175 isn't far off from that. You've got PLENTY of life in that saw!
