I don't know if I am doing this right, this is my first post. I am new to the chainsaw world and am having a hard time identifying a Homelite chainsaw I was given. There is no serial number or UT number. There is a Lot number of C6276 and another number totally separate, stamped on the lower front, 20 56843-D. There is no model either. I am posting to see if someone knows what model it could be and maybe what it's value is? It's also orange, very very large (don't know the cc, my guess above 50cc), appear to have both automatic and manual pump oil, does say homelite on the bar and the chainsaw, and has a 40 inch original bar. It runs really well to. Any help would be awsome! Thank you.

It's very likely and early 1960's 700 series saw. You would need to post some pictures and let the old saw guys ID it.
There may be others as well that used that crankcase casting.

Homelite had several large saws from that era that could run a 40" guide bar. Please post pictures to help identify the model.

Well if it's big, faded red, both oilers and built in 76, I'm going with 650 for now. Hope to get those pix.

Posting to this thread, too:My FIL gave me his old XL12 which he said he got used in the 80’s. I’d like to rebuild it but I don’t have much info. No stamped serial number, Lot number is C6177. There is a scratched-in serial number on top: 51382. Any help is appreciated. Attachments:
