hi,having an issue with this tillitson hs 56a on my xl 902 I have put a new ome carb kit in and still I can not get it to idol, and to run it I've got the low jet on 2 complete turns and the high jet on one turñ, can anyone help me please.

First check that you have the gaskets and diaphragms in the correct order. I have attached a link to a Tillotson HS carb manual. The last page will show how the gaskets and diaphragm as ordered. tillotson.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/techinfo_hs_us.pdfCheck the throttle plate shaft for play. There shouldn't be any play when you wiggle the shaft up and down and front to back on the side with the rod to carb linkage. A loose shaft makes it near impossible to tune. Pay attention to the adjustment of the metering needle lever height (the lever with the spring under it attached to the rubber tipped needle). It needs to be set level to the floor of the chamber and make sure the diaphragm is hooked into the needle. If all that is as it should be and you still have a problem, it's going to be something else.
