Rebuilt Walbro carb on a SEZAO. The Walbro manual says final adjustment is halfway between the lean drop-off point and rich drop-off point. Is this the best way to do it

Dialing in a carburetor usually doesn't take a lot of fussing if everything is working correctly. I start at 1 1/4 turns open on both mixtures. Let it warm up a few minutes then turn the idle speed so it is just below clutch engagement. Lean down the idle till it falters then open it 1/4 turns. You may have to reset the idle speed. Rev up the saw and listen to it. What you should hear is the saw start to miss at full rev's. If it doesn't miss, open the high an 1/8 and try again. If it does miss, turn the high speed in 1/8 turn and try again. When you hear it start to scream - no miss - stop and open an 1/8. If the saw will not accelerate afterward you will have to richen up the mixtures a little. Try low speed first. The whole key is not to run too lean. A lean high speed mixture will increase engine temperature and reduce lubrication.
