Just wondering if any one runs a 20" on there super mini/ez? Mostly softwood here in western Canada and thinking would be a handy combo for felling trees for firewood , and leave the bucking to bigger saws

A 20 in.bar on a 41cc saw is pushing it regardless of what type of wood you're cutting.I don't think there was a 20 in.bar that was made for an SEZ,although I did come across a 20 in.hardnose bar that was the correct mount for the saw.I think there might've been older Stihl saws that had the same bar mount? My advice is to use the bigger saws for felling & bucking,& use the SEZ for limbing & cutting anything up to 16 in.Theoretically one can cut up to a 32 in.tree with a 16 in.bar, but you're working the hell out of a 41cc saw.SEZs are tough little saws, but like anything else they can be overworked.

Have a 20" meant for a xl-1xx that works , but longer bar is more for reach than cutting thick wood, knocking off lower branches and such, in Alberta typically tree I cut for firewood are under 16"

You should be good then.As long as you're not using the full 20 in.in hardwoods.Sounds like you'll be cutting pine?

Lodgepole pine and black spruce is the main wood out here and Douglas fir, only native hardwood in Alberta is birch and poplar and even those are soft..lol

Think we all do it, but cutting above head level is never very wise! Long bars are best for cutting big diameter wood.

It was cutting dead soft wood so it looks a bit more impressive than it actually is. It does work really good though. Like Ed said though, definitely not meant for 20” bar. 16” is perfect size I find.
