I took my old XL 2 Auto out and worked with it. I was able to get the carb apart for cleaning. The diaphragm is quite stiff. I cut a lot of firewood with this saw like 27 years ago! Where does the time go. If it's a lost cause due to obsolescence so be it. But I would love to find a carb kit for it to start with. Model XL 2 Auto Serial 42470976 -- I guess it's a 1976. It says Homelite Textron on the carb, and 4 21-109 Thanks if anybody can help!

Thank you very much! I just sent for it. Saw has sentimental value! I'll hang on to Leon's site too. I also have an old Homelite weed whacker that is quite a beast, single string. Again, very much appreciated!!!!
