Just thought I would post this for anyone who is looking for regular parts for their C-Series saws... Just basic info on where to find parts and parts suppliers for their C-Series saws. I know some of this will seem like a NO BRAINER, but hopefully some of it will be of use to those out there that are interrested... Fuel line --- 3/16" rubber fuel line from any automotive store (may need to be forced onto the fittings - just use a little oil on the inside of the line and should slide right on - will fit tight in housing hole entrance to carb area to keep out dirt and debris) Fuel filters --- any filter for a chain saw with 1/4" fuel line (tight fit, but you don't have to worry about it possibly coming loose) Sealers for fuel tanks and so forth --- yamabond from any yamaha motor cycle dealer Flywheel side ball bearing --- #6203zznrc3brg from www.motionindustries.com (all C-Series saws) Clutch side needle bearing --- #b-1210 from www.motionindustries.comClutch side crank seal --- #7414 from motion industries (original C-Series saws only "C5, C7 and C9") Air Filter Elements --- 63728, 58188, A-69306 & 39-3101 Piston Rings 55537 --- from www.jackssmallengines.comPiston Rings 55038 --- from www.jackssmallengines.comCarb Kits / Major RK-88HL --- from any small engine shop Cylinder Rechroming --- www.usnicom.com / www.maxpower-engines.com/mpcplate.htmSprockets/Bars --- www.gbbar.com or any bar that fits the following saws will also work as long as you modify / make your own bar adjuster or just use an adjuster for an XL12 (330,350,360,545,410,410sl,400,460,450,550,650,750,923,xl12,xl12s,xlao,xl400,xl925,vl955,superxl,auto,540,700,800,850,955,900,922,923,925) That's pretty much it for now... I know it's not much, but it's something and something I will be adding to as time goes on and as I find more places out there still supplying some of these older saw parts. Gaskets, I've always made myself from my own master templates. Hope this is all of assistance... Greg

Thats good info Greg, you must have really done your homework! How did you go about cross refencing the crank shaft seals? I could use some seals for a 925 and dont feel like playing the $1 for the seal, $7 for shipping game with randy. Let us know how you went about it.

Not a problem, but some of the seals were available from Homelite only, which is why I didn't list a number for the flywheel side... Motion Industries website has an area that you can go to and type in all of the dimensions of the seals or bearings and it will either show you the cross refferences or tell you there are no crosses. You can also "if you live near one" go to one of the motion industries places and let them find the parts for you. Personally I got most of my own info from Darrin, the guy who restores the Homelite and other saws. His site is www.bigdmc.com/Chainsaw.html ... Yes I'm almost too obsessed with the C-Series saws, but perhaps my obsession can be someone elses cure. Greg

I could use some seals for a 925 and dont feel like playing the $1 for the seal, $7 for shipping game with randy. I'm 100% with you on this one! I made a promise to myself a while back that even if randy had the last 750 on the planet and only wanted $50 for it that I still wouldn't buy it from him. Their shipping charges are against eBay policy, yet they continuously list items that are cheap with jacked-up shipping. I've never needed anything that I couldn't find cheaper elsewhere. eBay really should do something about his shipping pricing policy. I'm sure people must have complained about it. Dan

Yes, true, and its usually on items that you need two ore more of, seals for example. And his ads take too long to load due to his big head being in every one, No pic of the part, just his mug shot? In all fairness, he did give me a good price on some Poulan Pro parts(over the phone), I didnt buy, but he let me talk him down a lil. Still dont like his adds.

I'm surprised anyone still buys anything from Randy. Although he did do me right when I first purchased something from him over a year or so ago, but this last time, I bought $30 worth of seals and what nots, then got charged individual shipping charges on each item totaling $70 something just in shipping. I told him I wasn't buying anything from him ever again... He not once answered or replied to a single email, then to top it all off, he advertises for his own company in the feedback he leaves for you OH WELL, got burned once, but never again by him... How did you seal cross refferencing go? I've found it's better if you go by what ever your sealings dimensions, not the seal itself. In other words crank outside diameter and housing inside diameter...

Lots of good info Greg! Some has already been of help to me with my C5. I do have to disagree on one bit however... Sprockets/Bars --- www.gbbar.com or any bar that fits the following saws will also work as long as you modify / make your own bar adjuster or just use an adjuster for an XL12 (330,350,360,545,410,410sl,400,460,450,550,650,750,923,xl12,xl12s,xlao,xl400,xl925,vl955,superxl,auto,540,700,800,850,955,900,922,923,925) I tried to put a 22" bar (that had the adjuster holes modified to work with a C-Series adjuster by a prior owner) from an XL925 on my C5. While it did indeed bolt on and the adjuster worked, the oiler hole doesn't quite line up with the slot on the saw. Some of the slot is above the hole on the bar. More importantly, the 'curve' at the rear of the bar uncovers part of the oiler slot, so all of the oil won't reach the hole in the bar. I should have taken pics. next time I take the bar off the C5 I'll shoot some comparison pics and post them here... In a pinch an XL bar would probably still work as the oil lost due to misalignment would mostly dribble onto the chain as it whizzes by. Since I had another Homelite bar of the correct pattern I just put the XL bar aside for when I actualy get an XL900series or XL12series saw. Fortunately Homelite did use the same pattern for the C-Series (and the "C+" family including the 1000/1050/1130G/2000/2100/3100G saws) as the older saws (Zip/Wiz/EZ/etc), so there are still many options for us. The Acres site lists it as 'bar pattern 16'. I used the bar from my Original EZ on my C5. The driver count was even spot on. I believe it's a 25" bar, and 82 drivers of .404 fit perfectly (same driver count as the rusted old chain from the EZ).

Yep, I've never thought much of RD either. Not that I'd do it, but it could be a fun time to really mess with him on ebay. Since the whole deal started with neg repping and sellers can't retaliate, you can buy some parts and slam him good for his jacked up shipping. I'm tempted but swore a while back I'd never buy anything from him.

Calvin,
Have you got the bar on the way that I paid you for a few weeks ago?
