Is there any way to dry out a carburetor on a saw for extended storage without disassembly? I have restored a number of saws but have not run them but would like to.

Sure, run it as much as you want then dump the fuel out of the tank. Run it again until it quits, that's as dry as you can get it without taking it apart and plenty dry for storage.
DO NOT cut with it when you are drying it out, you will damage the piston when it goes lean. Run it at idle and maybe blip the throttle if you want but do not hold the throttle open or load the engine.
