Hello all,
Picked up a saw from a flea market a couple years back because my friend likes older homelites. Tore it apart in North Dakota, moved because of the military, and now I've seemed to not locate the bar anywhere with anything I brought down. This saw is going to be a wall hanger resto saw, so functionality isn't an issue, I do however need to locate a bar. I have the chain, but it seems they discontinued 1/2" pitch (52T) awhile back. When spread out to be about the width of the bar, the chain seems to be about 24" so I'm guessing it was a 20" bar that was on it. Does anyone know what bar/chain combo I might be able to use to put on this when I get it all painted up? Like I said functionality not an issue, could be an old worn out bar as far as I'm concerned, it would just be cleaned up and put on.
Thanks!

Welcome to the House of Homelite. That sounds like an interesting saw. It could have any of a number of bars and chains on it so it might be tough to get you going. IF it is in fact 1/2" chain, it would be rare. No mater what chain it is, to fit a bar even sort of, the number of drive links you have will likely be needed. Also the thickness of the drive tangs, perhaps it is .063", that would be common. They will need to fit in the groove of whatever bar you find.
If you do have a loop of 1/2" chain that is in decent shape, you may find that it is much more valuable than you might have imagined. It seems to be selling for .50 to 1.50 per drive link. That adds up pretty fast, should you decide to sell the chain and use something cheaper on the wall.
Post up what you have about the chain, maybe a picture of the saw and its mount.

Copy, I'll get around to that tomorrow. Yes the chain isn't in terrible shape. A little rusty, but lots of life left in it in regards to the cutting edge. Should be 063 from my remembrance. It's a 52T chain, but I'll go out and double check in the morning on everything. If I recall as well, when I was looking at it tonight I believe the links said homelite on them

I have an old Homelite bar that was on a super wiz parts saw. It measures 24 and 3/4" end to end. That's probably too long for your chain but I think it would fit your saw. The serial number on the bar is 11331856 if that means anything to the experts.
