I think one of the reasons that my saw collection is mainly focused on Homelite is their use of a variety of colors. About a month ago I bought 8 saws from a friend who is thinning the herd. One of the saws is a 7-19. I already had a 7-19C in my collection and noticed that the green on the flywheel screen and spark plug/upper cylinder cover was quite different between the 2 saws. After a little research on Chainsaw Collectors Corner, I realized that saws with green accents produced 3/59 or before used Opalescent green and saws produced after that used Canyon green (more teal looking). I don't know how I didn't catch that before, but glad I didn't paint one of my older ones the wrong color! I love the later Canyon green but now have to come up with a code for Opalescent green. Be aware if you are restoring an EZ, EZ-6, 7-19, etc that the green color is not Canyon green. Maybe most of you already knew this but thought it is worth mentioning. Plus I work in a body shop so mismatched colors are an irritant. Hope this helps someone or inspires a restoration project!

I think one of these days Greg, you are going to reveal that you worked as the Homelite records keeper & historian for most of your life.
