Hello, I need help. I have 2 Super XL12. One has Ser# 08000052 and LOT#6007 on the tag above the exhaust. The other is an Auto oil XL12 but the label is gone but was located above the exhaust. First, can someone give any information on either? 2nd I need a coil for the auto oil saw. The coils look the same expect one is riveted to the bracket and the one I need is bolted to the bracket. Since i don't have a ser# for it I do't know what to ask for. Read more: houseofhomelite.proboards.com/conversation/23098#ixzz5pQ3M18EU

The first one was built January 7, 1976. There are IPL's galore at: www.leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com/parts-diagrams.htmlThey would use the same coil assuming they are both the same vintage and use points. If the unlabeled saw had no points, then you will need to use a later IPL to get numbers. Those are the only two choices for a coil or a module (coil assembly in electronic ignition saw) for the XL-12 and SXL saws. There are aftermarket parts available.

Turn stator clockwise as far as possible, then tighten bolts.
