Crusing through listings I stopped immediatly to notice the sweet repair job on this saw.. Now i could never bring myself to fix a saw like this i appreciated the ugly fix.. This post is for all the ugly and pretty fixes we see on our saws... I wish i kept all the photos of saws ive worked on or owned with similar treatment. Feel free to post pics and keep this going.. Scott

I'll get a picture when possible. But years ago on my SEZ I had fuel leaking from where the fuel line goes into the tank, upon closer inspection the grommet was badly degraded. Since I was out of town and not able to repair properly, I went and bought some "seal-all", which is a fuel sealant. I removed what was left of the grommet and pulled the fuel line out a little bit, slathered the seal-all on it and pushed it back in. After drying overnight it was completely leak free! I figured once I was home I would repair correctly. Here we are 10 years later and its still on the to-do list As far as I am concerned, I like function over form. Fixed is fixed!

What exactly would be the purpose of unfixing to fix? Of course that means no saw would ever get painted I guess.

Here’s another good jank fix similar to the one Scotts found, this time on an xl-123. I personally like the way it looks, kind of steam punk. Also makes it way stronger than factory.
