I recently scored on a SW 55 and 66 that had been sitting in a barn for 20+ years. I’ve tore down the 55 and I’m have trouble getting the clutch off the crank....Any tips?

I won't be much help since I haven't tore down any of my gear drives, at least the clutch portion. Can you post some photos of the clutch? I am sure better help will be along

According to the IPL, that should be a threaded clutch, so you'll need to use a spanner wrench and hold the flywheel or block the piston with rope. Remember the clutch is a reverse thread.
BTW, welcome to House of Homelite!

Ah that makes sense. I’ll just have to get me a spanner wrench then. This is a great forum and I’m glad to be apart of it and learn. I’m new to homelites and I’m still a rookie at restoring saws, so thank you for the warm welcome and the all the help!
