Hi guys! I started this poll due to a couple of guys wanting to know why I chose to focus strictly on Homelites for this forum. While I see no reason we cant ask about, tell about or show intrest in other brands here, I figured I would open it up for a vote. If anyone has a problem with Any Brand of saw feel free to ask your questions here as there will be nothing that is Taboo. Eric

Bottom line this is a chain saw forum, it just happens to focus on Homelite, there is no reason why we should not decuss other saws. Homelite was not the first saw nor will it be the last. I welcome topics on any brand of saw. Just as long as there are no intersaw conflicts. And that we don't lose the main focus of Homelite. See Ya Mike

My vote would be for a primary focus on Homelites but that there still be place for other brands. I guess I'm saying pretty much what Mike has already said..........Bob

I don't have a problem with other brands at all, old saws are what they are, and all brands are really cool. I think discussion / parts searching for other brands is bound to happen anyway - why not find a way to make it work? even if it's just one catagory for all other brands. Just my 2 cents............ The only thing that concerns me about going to a multi brand format is that we will be diluting the focus of the site, and possably stepping on the toes of the boys at Acres site. I had hoped to make this a repository for Homelite info and parts sourcing and I fear that going multi brand would lead to more work and less gain for me personally. I could allways ask around for a voulinteer to fill a moderator position....

I tend to agree with RBW on this one. I like the idea of a Homelite Only forum. I will vote that way, but I won't flame anyone that thinks otherwise.

If I have a question about my non-Homie saws I'll ask it at one of those sites. It's refreshing to have a specialty Homelite site. Also, I've a sneaking suspicion that the Mac dudes have their own forum already!

Hello to all. For now I voted to keep this site strickly a Homelite site. There are plenty of other sites to discuss other saws, not that other saws couldn't be discussed here eventually. But if space is a problem, for now just keep it geared to Homelite and as more space is obtained then include other brands say in a sub forum. Just my 2 cents worth. Lewis.

I think that having the main focus on homelites is good, But that's my opinion, for what it's been worth. RandyMac

Randy, you can post them anywhere you want!
Unless I misunderstand and your looking for a Gallery type thing, I would have to look into this if thats what you desire.
Let me know.

Yeah, a gallery, or we can just start a "show yer Homies" thread. I can start that tomorrow...

I think House of Homelites should obviously cater to Homies...Having said that I also have a couple of McCullochs; a 797 and 660 (gear drive). I wouldn't mind seeing a sub forum for Mac's and Poulan's and then "Old American" saws. Let the demand decide if its worth expanding those more. When I mean cater to Homies, have the majority of subjects and tech info along with swap/parts sub forums related to Homies. The other saws a side show. Actually a good gallery will differentiate this place from the others. As I stated before "www.thequadbuilder.com" has an awesome gallery and video section...I post there and then just cut&past a path to that location to post my pics here and other such places. You want to see a website done right technically for photo's and vid's???Go atake a look at www.thequadbuilder.com

I like using Photobucket for hosting my photos. The accounts are free the bandwidth is large and they give you the code to embed the picture in the tread. Tinypic and Imagevenue are also easy to use and free but it's much harder to keep track of your pictures.

I think it'd be cool to have other brands too - just for the simple fact that on this site if you need a part you can ask if anyone has it and if you have it you can reply without getting banned from the site! I am however, sick of reading about Stihl's. Matt

Ive got one or two of the major brands (except Husky) and they all have their good and bd points.
Id like to see a "non-homelite" discussion area, maybe more or less a trading post area, and a "It's broke" area, with a STRICT stipulation that THERE WILL BE NO BRAND BASHING ALLOWED.

I think it is great with a special forum for Homelite! It is perhaps a bit narrow, but in time this will provide the Homelite collectors and users of a lot of good fact's and help.
There is enugh webpages and forums for all brands and general talk. I think this will be very good!

I don't know what to say her Guys, But I feel it doesn't matter what brand of Chain Saw, Make or Models, we are here for one thing, and one thing only. To share our Enthusiasm about something we all enjoy. Chain Saws, Cutting Fire Wood, or Logging, and Comerodery between Everyone who wants to visit this Web Site. HomeLite or not. Sites like AS, well they are way too restrictive, and I don't belong there any more. Acer's Site, Every one visits it too. Race Saws, and smokstak is another that I visit Nightly, like I do here. I came here to share my Enthusiasm, about what I love, in regardless of Paint Colour. Chain Saws. But that Just my opinion though. Bruce.
