I will post a link to the on line auction when it becomes available. Mark P.S. Not my stuff, I am helping a lady recently widowed, her late husband (John Higby) had a stroke and passed away. I am trying to get some information out to folks that may be interested.

I don't think anyone here knew it was up for auction. Was waiting for a link to be posted... I knew it about it. Mark had posted links to the Auction in the Homelite section of Arboristsite. Auction items were pick up only, no shipping. I did bid and win a few items, didn't win on some other items. Mark is even nice enough to pick up my stuff till I make arrangements with him to get them. I would have bid on that pump if I had known I wouldn't have won the other items, but that's the way it goes. Auction was in the morning/early afternoon when I normally sleeping, so I but bids in after work and left it at that, but at least I can join the XL-15 club now! (one of my won items)

Wow, those are great items, all of them. I looked at the auction and cried a bit cause I had no way to get anything I might have got. I am completely convinced that the low prices are due to no shipping, good for the bidders, not so great for the widow. I would think that the auction company would catch on, they are on commission and they could get a piece of the shipping too if they offered it. It would require a "shipping department" but it would get them additional income on a higher sale price...

So Greg, is the XL-15 new like some of these other auction items? No, it’s not new. I won’t know more about it till I have it in my hands

It seemed that the more shippable items ended being purchased online and also brought more money. I lost the bid on some very old Homelite, Power Products, Briggs & Stratton dealer signs to online bidders. The lighted Homelite sign that I won would have been fragile to ship and that is why I think I won it. The Disston weights over 100 lbs. so that made it not as desireable to online bidders. This auction does have a shipping service that they provide.

What auction site was this? I'm guessing not eBay.

What auction site was this? I'm guessing not eBay. Proxibid. They handled the bidding for the auction house. The rules are different than something like eBay, you have to read them for every auction that you bid in.
