Hard to decide which order I’m going to do these in. Many thanks to Leon for his videos on the 330. If not for his store, and his willingness to share his expertise, I wouldn’t have gotten into this. I’m going to attempt to make some videos while I tackle these beauties, and I’ll post links to the videos as I update them. I have never made a video before, but hopefully they’ll be good. My 330’s will be the first in the lineup. They both are in dire need of cleaning. As for now, I’m working on a McCulloch eager beaver as payment for the new equipment. I hope to one day have a respectable collection of Homelite chainsaws (maybe one that will rival Leon’s, haha).

I'm glad the videos have been of some use, that was my hope!

Huge thanks to Leon for the videos. I used the crap out of the 330 and sxlao videos. Beat prices at the store also. Anyone know what hardware I need to put spikes on my 330? I have the spikes but it looked like I need special hardware or something?

Home Depot carries the hex head slotted 10-32 in 5/8" that is just like many of the factory heads on many of the old saws, just and nylock nuts and your good to go. The original screws were 10-32 by 3/4" on the 330 and 10-32 by 1/2" on the 240 and Supers. If you're using a nylock instead of a lock washer the 5/8" should be okay Original part number for the spike kit is A-12272-A

I like the 330, have 3 of them. I have a spike kit installed on one. The spike I have is threaded for 10-24tpi. However my spike fits and only has 2 mount holes unlike the ebay one...with 3 holes? Different spikes?? SXLAO 58cc 14.0lbs, XL12 54.2cc is 13.26lb and the 330 53.8cc with spike is 13.5 lbs, not bad for antivibe saw.

I’ve just picked up another super xl, a homelite concrete saw, and a whole lot of projects. I believe I have enough equipment to start a video library of homelite saws. I am going to have to buy a building just to store all of these treasures, not to mention a workshop.

I have stripped one of my 330’s down (the uglier of the two), and I’m going to have my hands full to get it straightened out. It needs more than a few parts, a good cleaning, and some new paint. I’ll probably use this one for parts for now just to get my other one fixed up. I’ll start with videos soon.
