I stopped by the local saw shop today to take a look at the XL-100 circular saw & pick up a couple saws.Five saws later & a nice almost new .063 gauge bar later,I left without the XL-100 of course.I got the 30 in bar, four Super 2's & a Jonsered 361 (don't worry that saw is red & black too). There wasn't much I could do with the Super 2's because I couldn't figure out how to prime the carbs on them. One has a messed up handle held together with duct tape, one has a seized chain on it,one has low compression,& another is missing a gas or oil cap.I'm sure I can get two good runners out of four. The poor little Jonsered is another story.I took the muffler off to look at the piston & cylinder, the cylinder looks fine, but I've never seen a piston that looked like that one.It looked black in one spot - not burned, almost like therer was something missing from it.There's no scoring on either the piston or cylinder.I'm going to have to tear it down to find out what's wrong. The flywheel key was missing too.The outside of the cylinder has no dirt, oil, sawdust, or grease on it whatsoever.I do have another good engine to pop right in.The saw was missing the carb cover,so I'm sure it's full of crap.Funny thing is,I picked that 361 up because I needed the carb for another 361 that I got several yrs.ago.They used two different carbs on those saws - a Walbro WA series or a Tillotson HU18C.Here are the pics. 20180411_163626 by edju1958, on Flickr

I don't know Greg.I'll get a pic of the numbers on the bar & the mounting holes.I paid $40 for it.I do know it's .063 gauge. This post was made with due respect to all members involved.

Interesting bar! If I'm reading the number correctly it's a 28" 3/8" pitch .063" gauge bar.

I guess I got lucky then because I wanted a longer bar for my 540.I believe it only has a 20 in.bar on it now, which is way too small for an 88 cc.saw,in my opinion.Funny thing too - when he sold the bar to me we both looked at the specs on the bar & I sais "I don't think this is a 30 in bar Brian".He looked & told me"You're right,it's a 28 in bar & it's 063 gauge & I have 063 chain here if you need it".I might have to wait till next yr.to do the 540 - knuckle replacement coming up.I have no idea how that'll turn out.
