Hi looking for a bucking spike for a Homelite 245. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? Or know the part number so I can search for one?

A-97046 is the correct number. The 245 IPL shows the spike in the accessories page near back of IPL.

Wow, that 245 looks pristine!!! I believe I purchased mine in 1985, and it's in good shape, but not quite as nice as yours!!! I used it for about 10 years to cut my supply of firewood, then purchased a larger Husqvarna. I still use and really like the 245 though for trimming and clearing smaller trees on my property. Thanks for posting a picture of yours for the other readers to see. I don't know how to post photos. Thanks.

.Onlyhomelites, just out of curiosity, how does your 245 handle that 20" bar and chain? I have only ever had a 16 on mine. Thanks.

No idea, I've never cut with it! I bought the saw from a Canadian seller (hence the chain brake) and had a NOS bar that I threw on it before putting it in the collection. I'd say 20" is too much though...18" is probably about as big as I'd go unless you cut a lot of softwood.

I usually make my own when needed, using 1/8"-3/16" flat stock material, hack saw, file, dremel, die grinder, etc.
