As some of you know,a couple of days ago,I went to my local dealer & pretty much cleaned him out of his Homelite stock that he's had for quite a while now.I ended up with 20 saws. Here's a pic. 20180124_160237(1) by edju1958, on Flickr

Thanks guys! Yeah,I've got An XL-101 - no spark, but lots of compression, probably neds a coil.I've got several Old Blues there,I haven't been through any of them yet.I've got a couple Super XL automatics,& a couple XL-12's.And I got a couple more SEZ's.I also got "the beast",an XP-1000 that I think might not be good.

Big score!!! You can always sell a few to fund repairing the other saws.

There was one SXLAO that just caught my eye,& I thought to myself"I'll bet if I just put gas in that one it'll fire right up".Sure enough,I put fuel in it & primed the carb about 3 times & away she took off.I've got to turn down the idle a bit,but she purrs like a kitten.I need to sharpen the chain too,I can't wait to take her out in the spring & cut. I got 3 more red ones to fire, but I wasn't as lucky with them, but I think all they're gonna need is carb kits.I looked over a couple of Old Blues too.I got one to fire by just squirting gas in the carb, but that one is gonna need new fuel line & a carb kit.I took the recoil off - I don't know how that saw fired up.I NEVER saw so much crud in a recoil in my entire life,There must've been oner an 1/8 in.of crud caked to the recoil cover.I don't think it was ever cleaned in it's lifetime.I took the muffler off & was a little disappointed, the piston has some scoring on it,which explains why it only has 125 psi. This Old Blue might be my"keeper". I still have a bunch more to go through, some more Old Blues & some SEZ's.Yeah,it's definitely gonna keep me busy for awhile.Lol

Update on my "collection".I found out today that I have a SEZ automatic.I put fuel in the carb & put fresh fuel in the tank. After about 4 times priming the carb,it wanted to run,but kept stalling out.I think it just needs a carb kit.I checked one of my other SEZ's from an earlier buy & that saw has 150 psi, that one just needs a carb kit as well.I checked my blue SEZ out today too.Believe it or not that one popped after putting fuel in the carb.I didn't check compression yet.It needs an air filter cover & filter,& the piston rod for the oiler was broke off flush with the retaining nut.Being this saw has points in it I was surprised when it fired. The last saw I checked out today was a blue Super XL-12.(I think). This saw is in beautiful shape except for a small chip that was broken where the top screw holds the recoil onto the housing.I think I'll talk to one of my neighbors who is a specialty welder to see if he can weld it back together.I had to lube up the recoil & now the rope retracts like it should.I also got this saw to fire up with some fuel squirted into the carb. You can see that the saw was involved in an accident because whre the handle attaches on the front upper it was replaced by a new piece that's red,& the broken chip on the recoil. All in all,it was a very productive day.I only have a couple more saws to go through, then I can start repairing them & hopefully sell some & make a few bucks.
