I would replace them. Not replacing might wallor the hole and cause bigger issues.

I got a pair from Joyce a while back, they were for an SXLAO. When you find them, loctite them in.

When I tightened the inserts up a bit they weren't wobbly any longer, but without loctite I think they will loosen again. Which loctite for them? Thanks

Looking at the IPL for an XL-902AM it appears the bar studs thread into a threaded insert, perhaps the studs are loose in the insert. Can you post a pic please ? lol you found the problem as I was writing this.Blue loctite should be enough.

The studs have a small head on them and the inserts screw in around the studs. A tool to tighten the inserts can be made from tubing or a socket that is of the right wall thickness. It has to fit over the stud. Grind away most of the end to leave two tabs that fit the insert slots and tighten. I use red, permanent thread locker on the inserts and then tighten them tight. I do not plan on ever taking them out, there is no maintenance reason too unless you were to break one or wreck the threads. If they have to come out, heating to 250-300 degF will melt the locker. Personally, I have never seen that happen without gross neglect.

The rear bulkhead that bar adjustment nut braces against was broken, I am using some steel reinforced JB weld to attempt to fix it, but not sure it will work

I have an XL 903 that was probably abused before I got it. Both bar studs failed at different times stripping all the material out of the body. I'm kind of stubborn I didn't feel like scrapping my saw so I macgyvered some new bar studs. Kind of a long process but if anybody's interested message me back
