Welcome to the House of Homelite!
I think that would be pretty hard to say, but I would bet it was made of metal. I happen to like anything with an XL on it, particularly the XL500 and the SXLAO's. The XL15 is very rare but there are lots of others that people search out.

For me, probably in this order of want:
3100G 7-29 or 8-29 770G Stick Shift 20MCS

I would say the Homelite 545 if it exists. Only seen it in Homelite literature and on Mike Acres site. Never have seen one for sale, never seen anyone talk about owning one on ANY of the forums, not even a IPL. If it does exist, they were just prototypes and Homelite made very few of them.
All the big cc saws are sought after, but some are hard-to almost impossible to find. Here's my list, not in any particular order.
7-29 8-29 Some of the 900 series 900, 909, 990, 995 XL15 770GS Stick shift 3100G First Gen 650's with oiler adjuster on top. Any 650, Super 650 750's with a chain brake.

Forgot about the 545...I sure wish someone who used to work at Homelite could clear that mystery up!
