I'd like to accomplish 3 thing's with this post. Correctly identify the year make and model of this machine, establish fair market value and find a buyer who will truly appreciate it. The person I inherited this blue homelite 150 from was a firm believer in Sears/Craftsmen quality, reliability and durability. And he took the greatest possible care a man with his limited knowledge of power tools could. From what I've been able to ascertain so far it was manufactured between 1971-1973, it has not only the original carrying case but the manuals and all accompanying paperwork as well as genuine replacement parts, chain etc...acquired at the time of the purchase. I believe this machine was used no more than a half dozen times.

The value can only be determined by what a buyer is willing to pay. That said, if it was brand new in a pristine sealed box I think a serious collector might pay $200.

Your best outlet to sell it would be eBay. They're prone to loose paint easily. If it were pristine with no paint chips and perfect paint on the bar, it would bring a premium. The highest price for one recently on eBay was $119.

I am going to rebuild a vintage homelite chainsaw. The only number legible on the plate is 23363129. I wonder if it is an XP1000. Love to get your opinion. Kindest regards. Paddy Murphy

Paddy Murphy Post a pic of the saw and of the plate. All I can tell from the number (if it is the serial number) is it was made on the 336 day of 1972 and the 3129 saw built that day.

Well Paddy, looks like Joyce may have narrowed it down for you. Unfortunately, these five saws are all 100 cc saws with a 55.5 mm bore. So where back to needing pictures, so if that's not possible, It looks like we'll have to play "pictionary". We'll post the pics you tell us if it looks like your saw.
