I was just working on a C7 thats been sitting for who knows how long- barn find. oh oh, oiler not working I was just about to tear it down when I thought I have to try this- I put some oil in the tank then grabbed my vacuum pump, placed a soft tip on it and placed up to the engine case where the bar oil comes out, pumped it 3 times wala, oiler working!!! No need to get all those carb and intake gaskets. BTW, shot some fuel mix in the carb, 2 pulls it ran, gas in the tank, she fires right up. Again, these things were made to last and last....

Well done, and good thinking! I have a C-7 sitting waiting to be tinkered with. I'll remember this trick. I wonder how it would work for an automatic oiler? (C-7 is manual right? ;-) I'll let you know when I try it.

It might work on a auto oiler too, just have to watch how much vacuum you put to them as some saws have a diapragm pump in them you could do more damage.....
