Hi and welcome to the homelite forum. Just guessing that it is in the XL-12 family. Since it is red instead of blue, it should be 1974 or newer. On the right side above the muffler there appears to be a tag. If there is a UT#.... that will identify the saw.

I have a Homelite chain saw I found in my dad's garage. It's missing the trigger rod and I can't seem to find out anything about it. It is identified on the chainsaw with lot # G7145 and UT# 104442. Can you help me? I am looking for the model and a trigger rod.
Thanks in advance. Brett

6 digit UT number? Is that correct UT 104442 or is that a serial number? Lot number seems to say May 25, 1977, but I have never seen a 6 digit UT number. Anyone else know about this?

At one time Homelite decided to not give the SuperXL saws a serial number. As we tagged all the saws we sold we made up our own way of marking them. When saw returned for service we knew whether we sold unit or not. The service rates were different. Also this saw doesn't have a manual oiler. About that same time they wanted to make them a little cheaper. Then later that had a kit that included lines etc. that could be added for the manual oiler. I think that 6 digit number was the number they put on all of these saws. chainsawlady
