It's looking more and more like it'll be pretty nice looking once I'm done. I'm still up in the air though as to whether I want to take the time to sharpen the chain or just buy a brand new one so I've got a brand new cutting surface to work with. Meantime, here's my painted body with new decals applied. These are the Sugar Creek ones that are sold through Chainsawr. Great decals and if you're careful they go on smooth as silk. I haven't applied the setting solvent yet so when the light hits them right they do still look very silver. And there are a few hairline wrinkles in the starting instructions decal that happened when I accidentally moved it with one of my knuckles. Should lay down nice and flat once I get the solvent on it though. I had ordered these back in September from Chainsawr (along with a handful of other parts), but when the decals hadn't shown up about four weeks later, I shot an email off to them asking if the order had been processed or if they had any shipping information. The next day I had a voice mail from Joe Salva. I call him back and he verified which decals I had ordered, made sure he had the right address to send them to, and sent me a new set. I had them within a week. No clue where the hangup happened with the initial order, but the guys at Chainsawr were quick to get me in touch with Joe, and Joe was a very stand up guy and got my decal order squared away quick. I only wish more people were like Joe in taking care of their customers. Still got a ton of cleanup to do on the bar. Not sure how it'll turn out though with the pitting it has. I fear it may be a lost cause. Hopefully not, but I guess I'll find out one way or another.

Hi Spook50, Really enjoyed reading you journal. Appreciate it when people take the time to take such great pictures of the process. And it feeds the CAD. I've got a few 150's and took one saw completely apart and then learned that Homelite said not too. I took it apart because I thought the tank would need to be throughly cleaned. Turns out I probably could have done a fairly good job with some acetone. I put the two tanks halves together with a product called Seal All that a fellow lister suggested and it worked good. I had such a time putting everything back together that I wouldn't do it again. Part of the reassembly problem was lack of experience, but I kind of wonder if Homelite didn't originally paint the saw just like your doing now? As far as the bar goes I'd get a new one and save the old one for back up. I know it's original with the saw, but bars do wear out and get replaced don't they? You don't want to have a chain come off and damage all that hard work. Just my own unsolicited .02 Look forward to seeing the finished product.. R&R

I have 150, a freebie, runs ok hard to start though, floods out easily... other than a good cleaning I really haven't done much with it, someday I'll dig into it more, but I prefer tinkering on the big dogs, got an xp1020 on the way:) Anyway nice work, I hear putting the throttle/choke linkage back on can be a challenge. I may have a nos bar for it if your interested, pm me if you like. Thanks Dan
